You are in control of your destiny. This sounds so simplistic that we can laugh and shrug and wait for the next bus, or subway, or chauffeur. How you take care of your short time on this earth at some point falls fully into your hands.
Every other excuse up to now on all your falls and bumps and broken arms aside, it is now up to you. And any actions that you take now to further your knowledge and education places you in one of the decisive and winning roles in the decades to come. For education and science knowledge must rule over fables.
Whether you are commoner, king or honest person of God in quest of wisdom, you obviously accumulate all you can to redeem this continual quest for knowledge and wisdom. Surely your newest accepted natural science knowledge and reflection could become a state of becoming, growing within us all.
So time for some messages from past the grave, and this is from Maharishi through me to you. Learn how to grow your heart. Become as one with all that is around you.
Build your ability to care and cope, hardship as well as gain is ahead in your life. Rejoice and renew each day. When I was invited by a tenant of mine in 1968, a friend, we found ourselves pressed on to the stage when the Maharishi visited our city. Within a year I was a member and have meditated on and off since.
The power of meditation, then a fad I followed after the Beatles perhaps, soon became a profound new way of seeing the world. At that time I was a Credit Manager and a Psychology Major and all told me this meditation would only confuse me. They may have been right in that I became different.
My cohorts applauded my achievements, and those I dealt against on behalf of my company claimed wizardly achievements. And science now shows that meditation and the continued search for knowledge and wisdom has made all the difference all through the second, and now going into the final third quarter of my life. So far. I will discuss this further to release this to you. The tradition is that you bring a flower and a piece of fruit and a pure heart to your introduction to meditation.
Always sit quietly before a meal, and the flower in your hand would be a good way to bypass the ceremony. The pure heart is up to you. Repeat any word soothing, I was given my Word, but the universal mantra which I can easily slip into for the bliss is ooom. You allow that to flow from your lips and then you quietly continue to breath deeply in and out while you quieten yourself down and take this new mantra deeply inside you.
Until you are only saying it inside your mind. Wonderful experiences happen when you deeply descend inside yourself. It is not nearly as dark and scary when you get into the habit of going inside for a visit. Does your heart, your soul, your bliss a world of good.
Try it, you should find it profoundly calming, and somehow seems to allow large problems be more able to break down into smaller parts and deal with each in the turn that naturally comes next,in a more sublime state.

October 15th, 2009Five Famous Science Fiction Films
October 14th, 2009Science fiction films have mesmerized the audience the world over with their surreal adventures and special effects. These kinds of movies attract young people the most. But films like Star Wars and Superman have a universal appeal. Science fiction films take their audience to a dream world where everything is out of this world and larger than life.
When we look at the best five science fiction films, we should start with the series of films called Star Wars directed by none other than George Lucas. No science fiction list is complete without a Star Wars film. Their impact on the history of cinema is incalculable. Star Wars features some of the most iconic characters of world cinema. All the Star Wars movies became hugely successful and were liked by millions all around the world. The fighting techniques are unique and stylish.
The second film is Blade Runner, which was made in the year 1982. The director of this film is Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford portrays the main character. The story revolves around Harrison Ford who plays a policeman, Rick Deckard, and his hunt for four cloned humanoids, known as Replicants, in a dystopian version of Los Angeles. Replicants have been deemed illegal and Deckard is a blade runner, a specialist in exterminating them. It also discusses consciousness with an attempt to formulate a way to tell a human from a machine. The Voight-Kampff empathy test is used by the police in the film to identify the replicants – who have memories implanted and are programmed with artificial emotions.
The third film is also directed by Ridley Scott. It is named Alien and it came out in 1979. The film is about a stellar mining vehicle Nostromo, heading back to Earth. It intercepts a signal from a nearby planet; the crew is under obligation to investigate. The most important scene from this film almost became iconic with an infant creature bursting bloodily through John Hurt’s chest. The interstellar mining vessel takes onboard a life form with concentrated acid for blood and two sets of jaws, which then messily dispatches the crew. The film was praised for the gothic set design and Sigourney Weaver’s portrayal of reluctant hero Ellen Ripley.
The fourth film is 2001 A Space Oddesy directed by Stanely Kubrick. This film was made in the year 1968. The film is one of the finest works of Staley Kubrick. This film achieved enormous fame for its then revolutionary special effects. Even before the invention of super computers and stunning special effects, this film shows the brilliance of the simulations, which cannot be done better despite all the modern computer graphics.
The fifth film is called Solaris and it was directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. This film was made in the year 1972. This fantastic science fiction movie was remade in the year 2002 but the original holds a fascination for fans of the novel by Stanislaw Lem. This film is about a psychologist who travels to a base on a remote planet to replace a mysteriously deceased scientist. There he encounters the secretive survivors and his dead wife. Reality is supplanted by the increasingly attractive alternative of the alien intelligence of that planet.

Science, Healthy Lifestyles, Global Warming – Mandarins in Manhattan
October 13th, 2009Throughout the expansion of people around the earth the movements have generally spread east and west out of Africa, and most have stayed in the wide central middle climate zones between both poles where the science shows that healthy lifestyles are easier if you can grow crops all year. Thus in the west it was that as people migrated to the north from Egypt they found winter storms could happen in Athens or Rome. And thus developed the need for storage for the times when science says if the average temperature falls below 40 F crops will not grow.
And after the times of Alexander the Great, the creation of his majestic port at the mouth of the life giving Nile made possible increasing crops in ever fertile Egypt to soon become the bread basket for Athens and then Rome. And even before Athens back into the far reaches of time, people had been forced southward in Europe and all northern regions of earth, at both poles really. The cave drawings in southern France also show reindeer bones at layers when England was covered in ice.
We have moved north and south several times. And with our human help, it is rather speeding up this time, as the flowing water out of expanding holes in glaciers shows from Greenland and Canada to the Antarctic. Soon the always frozen seas of northern Canada will be open to traffic, the long sought northwest passage which actually is a huge short cut for trade between Europe and Asia. All win with lower costs and quickly delivery in this case. There is that issue about the sea rising, which may create Dutch type cities and the need to adapt to what ever is coming at us.
If New Orleans needs 10 feet high dikes, let us build them. In some areas less precious or historic, maybe we need to move to high ground also. But what is coming is the northward ability of crops, from Changsha Mandarin Oranges and hardy banana trees up in west coast Canada, to grizzly bears mating with polar bears as they reach the Arctic Ocean, where small trees are starting to poke up from the permafrost. And we now have other burning bushes to put out while California crops and vineyard dry out as we find the Sonoran desert moving northward, burning bushes by bush.
Meanwhile Manhattan will sonn grow Mandarin oranges as now in the frost zones of Manchuria. And as grizzly bears have now reached the Arctic Ocean, we in Canada now have a new worry: what do you call a baby bear, still white but with a black mouth, who had a Grizzly for a daddy, and a Polar kind of mom? Change would be good.
